Characteristics and Traits

Domain-
A: X values
B: all real numbers
C: all numbers left and right

Range-
A:Y values
B: All real numbers
C: All numbers up and down

End Behavior-
A: Where the end points on the graph
B: End pointing up is positive
C: End pointing down is negative
D: X -> ∞ X -> -∞
E: Y -> ∞ Y-> -∞

Absolute Max/Min-
Max- Highest point on the graph
Min- Lowest point on the graph

Local Max/Min-
Max- Highest multiple points on the graph
Min- Lowest multiple points on the graph

Interval of Increase- Section of graph where Y-values are increasing, described in terms of X

Interval of Decrease- Section of graph where Y-values are decreasing, described in terms of X

X -Intercept- Where the line crosses X axis, (X-intercept,0)

Y -Intercept- Where the line crosses Y axis, (0, Y-intercept)

Symmetry- Says either graph is Even, Odd, or Neither

Even- Symmetrical on Y -axis (You can fold it in half on the Y -axis)

Odd- You can Rotate 180 degrees on the origin

Neither- Line is offset on the graph

Asymptote- Only occurs on Exponential growth and decay, Where the line almost touches the graph or looks as if it is touching but is not

Function- A line that passes the vertical line test

One-to-One- Passes vertical line test and horizontal line test
